Sew a bordered table runner with pointed ends — sized to your own table
TAMWORTH is a table runner with a contrasting border down both sides and neat pointed ends. The templates are provided for a 1m runner, but the pattern is written so you simply cut your fabric to your own table length — no resizing or guesswork.
What you'll learn
- Joining a narrow central panel to a wider border fabric so the borders finish equal on both sides
- Checking and squaring the ends before finishing
- Forming the pointed ends by folding, stitching and turning the point in on itself
- Sewing in the ditch where the border meets the centre panel
Finished size
Approximately 31cm wide x the length of your table plus 50cm. Templates are supplied for a 1m runner.
What you'll need
Border fabric 43cm wide x the length of your table plus 50cm, and central fabric 23cm wide x the same length. Non-directional fabric works best. Plus a heat-erasable pen and a quilting or standard ruler. Seam allowance is ¼".
