Materials Required

  • Optional: ½m medium weight iron-on interfacing, for a firmer bag
  • Notions: Matching thread, clips or pins, a heat-erasable pen, a ruler and an iron

What You Will Learn

  • Joining fabric bands: sew the top band, middle panel and bottom panel together, with top stitching for a neat, professional finish
  • Handles and Rockabilly ties: fold and top stitch sturdy fabric handles, and sew, snip and turn the shaped ties
  • Curved seams: sew the curved outer and lining, and snip the curves for a smooth shape
  • Lining a bag: join the outer and lining, turn the bag through a gap in the lining, and top stitch around the top
